I'm a certified English tutor (TESOL) and a University Teaching Assistant/ PhD Candidate. I have an Engineering and Business background(Petroleum Engineering) with Master's and Bachelor's Degree. I also prepare people for IELTS, TOEFL, CAE and other English Test examinations as well as BUSINESS ENGLISH. To say that I love Teaching will be an understatement. My whole life currently is centered around teaching as I spend the most part of my day teaching university students. My future goal is to work as a University Professor. Teaching a language, unlike teaching technical subjects requires patience, varying techniques and methods that are student-centered and that is one of the reasons I love doing this. It encapsulates the efficient use of the five main senses of human beings and how proper channeling of it can produce a 'wow' effect. I usually take my students through the 4 main skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening). Students will practice pronunciations, intonations , accent reductions and all that there is to English speaking. Improvements of grammar, Use of appropriate vocabulary and active listening skills will all be tackled. To do all of this, I employ the use of relevant teaching methods(role playing, controlled discussions, word drilling, etc), study materials (audios, videos, flashcards, games, etc) and a lot of other procedures..

? I'M NOW TAKING ON NEW STUDENTS- CHILDREN! ? ?? “Absolutely fabulous! We enjoy her lessons!” Yumi, Japan. ?? ? Are you looking for a fun and stimulating English teacher for your child(ren)? ? Or are you needing help with increasing your confidence with speaking? This is exactly what I specialise in! I am a fully qualified Primary teacher, with an honours degree. I have been teaching for more than 20 years in classrooms and online. As this is my full time job, I believe it is very important to ensure my students- adults or children- get results. I feel it is necessary to feel comfortable and have fun whilst learning ANYTHING! So with this in mind, I aim to provide a fun, stimulating and relaxed environment for each student to learn and make great progress. ?? “Caroline is a great, friendly and reliable teacher. She prepares and gives the right work, which fits the student’s level. Her lessons are very helpful in improving the English skills.” Sara, Japan. ?? Our sessions will focus on developing the language needed for conversations, whilst covering key skills, such as listening and reading. My main goal is to improve your confidence so that you can communicate better in everyday situations. With my younger students, I can provide lessons in all the key skill areas, using a variety of stimulating resources- books, videos, imagery and games. Before the trial lesson, my adult students undertake a fully comprehensive evaluation. This provides me with a complete analysis of their abilities and highlight areas for development. During your trial lesson, I will be able to determine your fluency and talk about areas that need to be improved from the evaluation. We will create a Learning Plan on what to do to achieve your goals (each of my students receive a tailor- made course, suiting their needs and goals with learning English). ?? “Awesome teacher!” Matheus (Brazil). ?? For my younger students, I use the trial lesson as a way of getting to know the child(ren), asking interesting questions that will encourage the child(ren) to communicate with me freely and confidently. We may even play a little game! This time provides me with a fabulous opportunity to discover the abilities of the student and initialise an action plan on how I can help develop their skills. I have also achieved the 120 TEFL/TESOL certificate and have taught students from various countries. I look forward to meeting you and starting your adventure with English!
Hello. I'm Patrick, a TEFL certified and professional/qualified/registered English teacher (in both Canada and New Zealand) with almost 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages and backgrounds in both formal and informal settings. I can help you with the following (and much more): test preparation (experienced in IELTS, CELPIP, Cambridge, Pearson, GESE and TOEFL preparation); pronunciation and grammar assistance; accent reduction; meaningful conversations with vocabulary assistance; Business and Academic English; reading and writing comprehension and practice. I look forward to being able to help you in your learning journey with lessons tailored to your individual needs, as we work together to improve your skills and confidence in using English. Learning can be both challenging and interesting at the same time, so I personalize a lesson as much as possible. My style is based on patience and instructional scaffolding, just as I would do in my classes in a formal school, so learners of all abilities always have a chance to improve as we gradually and methodically develop your vocabulary, comprehension, pronunciation, and grammar skills, as well as your abilities in reading, writing, and listening. At the same time, classes move quickly once either a foundation for learning has been established or work has been mastered, using a mix of discussions and questions, listening and writing exercises, activities from various textbooks, pronunciation practice, vocabulary building work, and presentations of various types. So, if you need help studying or a test or to succeed in your chosen field of work, would like to improve your abilities as a beginning student, or simply want to have a chat to maintain and improve your conversational abilities, I look forward to hearing from you soon! * I also teach lessons for classes of students, so please feel free to ask about this, and other teaching options, if you are interested.
Aloha! My name is Malia and I'm a native English tutor from the United States. I was born and raised in the beautiful islands of Hawaii, but I've traveled all over the world (40 countries and counting) and I've studied many languages during my travels, including Japanese, French, Spanish and Turkish. I received my CELTA certificate to teach English to adults and I've taught in language schools, private schools and universities, as well as individual students and executives looking to improve their general or business English. In the business world, I have personal experience working in a variety of fields: retail sales and management, operations, human resources, accounting, legal, communications/PR and as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of a nonprofit. I specialize in conversation classes to improve your fluency and expand your vocabulary. I believe that the best way to learn a language is through topics that are engaging and fun so we will often work from material relating to your interests or hobbies, emails or situations from your work, role plays you might encounter traveling, videos like TED Talks, or from topics in the news. If you've got a job interview or work presentation coming up, I'm happy to help you prepare and practice for it. Although you will get some corrections while speaking during class, I find that it's usually best to focus on error correction at the end of a session, so that it doesn't hinder your fluency. My goal is to help you to become confident and comfortable using English in your everyday life. I'm looking forward to meeting you! =)
